How IP Cameras can help curb suicides

As the same coin has two sides, many things around us have its own advantages and disadvantages. We are the ones who have to choose. Things are created for the progress of mankind but it is we who always see the negative part involved.

When things are used in the right manner, it strikes the right cord and is beneficial for us. Now-a-days when everything is becoming so unpredictable, it has become important to keep a tag on things all the time as you don’t know what the consequences might be.

Today’s generation is way smarter than the one before. They have exposure to social media, are Smartphone users and are equally reactive to situations around them. But amongst the lot there are also children who deny coming out of their comfort zone and interacting with others. It is difficult to predict these children. You never know when and what they might be thinking.

A recent case that I came through is of a student studying in Class VII. He was an average and a shy student who never interacted much with other children. Not even to his close aides. Once after the examinations, their results were out and this boy came to know that he had flunked in a particular subject. He kept mum as usual. And expecting this to be his normal behavior, nobody enquired anything with him.

Both his parents were working so he used to be alone at home. As per routine, he came home that day, changed his clothes and freshened up a bit. God knows what was going on in his mind when after a while he gulped down a bottle of pills that were lying on the dressing table. He felt unconscious and fell on the ground.

Fortunately, they had an IP Camera installed which his parents used to check at regular intervals as he used to stay alone. When they checked the camera they were shocked at the particular scene and rushed immediately to their residence. They rushed him to the hospital and he was saved. Had it not been for the camera, they would have not known what was going on in the house and it would have been too late by the time they would be home. He was only saved because he was treated on an immediate basis.

Later he was counseled on the same and started a new lease of life with a positive note. I never imagined that installing a camera would make such a huge difference. Really it’s such a small decision but proved as a life savior!
